Flight Simulator

Fly the Procedures Before You Fly Them

The RealSimGear SRx replicates the Cirrus G6 flight deck, its controls and its avionics, and the FAA holds it as an Advanced Aviation Training Device. Instrument work, avionics workflows and emergency scenarios can be flown, briefed and flown again with your instructor, without an aircraft, a slot or a ceiling to wait out.

Overview

Repeatable practice, whatever the weather

A simulator session is the one hour in training you can fly twice. Set up the approach, fly it, talk it through, then fly it again with the crosswind doubled or the alternator failed, until the flow stops needing thought.

Because the panel, the side yoke and the keypad match the aircraft, that practice transfers. You are learning the actual avionics workflow and the actual scan, not a simplified version of either.

The SRx is an FAA approved Advanced Aviation Training Device and every hour includes your instructor, so the time is loggable. Under Part 61 an AATD counts for up to 20 hours toward an instrument rating and 2.5 toward a private certificate, and instrument currency can be kept here too.

Included

What's included?

  • Full scale replica cockpit

Molded panels, cockpit lighting and glareshield on an integrated platform with an adjustable seat.

  • Side yoke, pedals and throttle

Force feedback Cirrus side yoke, Virtual Fly rudder pedals, the aircraft's own throttle console and a working CAPS handle.

  • Garmin Perspective avionics

Replica PFD, MFD and GCU keypad with an electronic standby instrument, running RSG emulated Garmin software.

  • Your instructor, included

Every hour is flown with a CFI at the simulator's own instructor station. The rate covers both.

The flight deck

Built around the Cirrus G6 cockpit

The SRx is a full scale replica of the Cirrus SR cockpit: molded panels and glareshield, a force feedback side yoke, the aircraft's own throttle console and switch panels, a working CAPS handle, and replica PFD, MFD and GCU keypad driving RSG emulated Garmin Perspective avionics.

Visuals run on wraparound screens over X-Plane 12, with the Cirrus SR20, SR22 and SR22T all modeled. It sits between a desktop simulator and a full motion training device: not a games controller with a screen, and not a box that needs its own building. The FAA holds it as an Advanced Aviation Training Device, and the Letter of Authorization comes with the machine.
